I learned about vibration plates for exercise years before my osteoporosis diagnosis. In 2020 I purchased a ‘teeter-totter’ style vibration plate from Amazon for around $100. I used it until I learned it was ineffective for bone health and could possibly be harmful.
My osteoporosis research led me to some YouTube videos that convinced me that there were better options.
These are considered the top options by Dr. Doug Lucas and others studying vibration plates for bone health. I chose the VT007 for myself, because the price is so much lower.

I use my VT007 almost every day for 10 continuous minutes. Bone density scans are done every year or two, because bones restructure slowly. For that reason, I haven’t any proof yet that it’s strengthening my bones. However, it also has other benefits: full body massage and muscle stimulation, which are immediately noticeable. The best thing about it, is I feel more energized after using it. It’s also an excellent way to warm up my muscles before doing strength training.
To be honest, if it had been in my budget at the time, I would have bought a Power Plate. For those who can afford it, it’s an ideal all around exercise machine with many benefits. Fortunately the VT007 also has benefits. It takes up less room than a Power Plate, while still providing the impact of an ‘up and down’ motion.
If you have been diagnosed with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or other musculoskeletal condition, talk to your health professional to see whether you might benefit from whole body vibration.
